Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood situated in The West Island of Montreal is the home of a variety of small-scale businesses. The people who aren't familiar with this term frequently think that it's a isolated island to the west from Montreal, but in fact it's a part of the city that's west. West Island is home to every aspect of Lachine west to Lachine west. Amanda Brugel is said to be from the West Island. However, her time there was brief. Brugel grew up in Courtice, outside Oshawa, Ontario. She hoped to be dancing at first but because of the rapid growth of her body, she surpassed all her dance partners. In an article written by The Toronto Star that she was 6'1" tall when wearing heels. When I was outgrowing my male friends, I quit. The majority of dancers who have been ex-dancers now turn to acting, and in the case of Brugel it was the nudge of a drama teacher at the high school that led her in the appropriate direction. The teacher suggested that she try her hand at a character in the annual school production. It was a trial run and she was cast as the leading role for the role of Rita in Anne of Green Gables. She was given the Fine Arts Talent scholarship at York University, where she studied Theatre and received an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts in 2000.
