Beyonce Giselle Knowles was born on
September 4, 1981 in Houston, Texas. Tina Knowles-Lawson, her mother, designs
their sparkling costumes. Mathew Knowles is Destiny's Child's managing
director. Solange is her older sister (4 years separated) is releasing her
debut album. She dances with her big sister at DC-3 shows. Beyonce is of
Louisiana Creole & African descent. Her group was found by Whitney
Houston. Lovefool The song, performed by The Cardigans, is her favourite track.
Her top item of clothing is a pair of path work boots made of metallic. She is
the writer and producer for many of the group’s hits, including "Jumpin
Jumpin" and "Bootylicious" Nasty Girls", "Independent
Women", and "Happy Face". She is the main singer for Destiny's
Child. For her opening act she toured together with Christina Aguilera (2000).
She also toured with TLC as the opening show (1999). The cat is named Master P.
She attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston,
Texas. Solange is Nixon and Koi Knowles their older half sister. She was once
on Star Search (1983). The singer was the first woman of African descent ever
to be awarded the ASCAP Pop Songwriter of the Year Award in 2001. She is an
avid fan and admirer of Middle Eastern music. Her most popular hit to date is
song "Crazy in Love" (2003). The Radio Music Awards, MTV Europe Video
Music Awards and Billboard Awards are among the awards shows she appeared on in
2003. She also appeared at an South African AIDS benefit show in November 2003.
The event was hosted by Bono of U2 to combat the AIDS epidemic in sub-Saharan
Africa. (February 8th (February 8, 2004) She was awarded five Grammy Awards,
including Best Contemporary R&B Album for "Dangerously in
Love" She also took home the most awards from this year's (2004) show.
Mathew is her father. Tina is of Louisiana Creole descent. Her ancestors
include African and French and come from Louisiana and Canada. Beyonce also
descends 1/32 Irish and her maternal line has distant Breton-, Spanish-,
Indonesian-, and Chinese roots. She has been quoted saying that she created a
stage personality named "Sasha" to combat her shyness.
