Britney Jean Spears

Britney Jean Sparrow was born in McComb (Mississippi) on December 2, 1981 and moved to Kentwood (Louisiana). Britney was a dancer when she was a kid and won many competitions in gymnastics. But, most of all, Britney loved to sing. Britney was 8 years old when she attempted to be a part of The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989), however, her young age led to her being rejected. Britney was later recommended to Broadway's off-Broadway musical "Ruthless" in which she performed in the title role for two years. When she was 11 years old she was back in the running for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) and she made her debut as a mouseketeer, alongside numerous stars of today (Justin Timberlake as well as JC Chasez of *NSYNC and Ryan Gosling). However, her most notable break came in the late 1990s when she was signed to be a Jive Recording artist. Britney was a huge success after the release of her debut album "...Baby another time" in 1999. The album also sold over 13 million copies (as as of July 2001) of her follow-up album "Oops !...I did it Again" that was released in May 2000. Britney was the daughter of Lynne Spears & Jamie Spears and has a big brother, Bryan Spears & a little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was bound to become a star from a young age. Britney loved singing and was influenced by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Britney was a candidate for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989-1994) at the age of was eight. But, she was too old to be accepted. Instead, Britney, her mother and baby sister moved to New York where she starred in a variety of TV ads and in the off-Broadway show, "Ruthless", where she was a student of Natalie Portman. A few years later the passion for dance and music began to take over. She was able to audition again to be a part of "Mickey Mouse" and was picked along with Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and Justin Timberlake.
