Alison Doody

Alison Doody was born in Dublin in 1966, in an affluent family. Doody is the third child in the family. She was educated at the convent where she was able to develop a passion for arts. In the following years, she was a student at Dublin's National College of Fine Arts of Dublin however, she left because she was lacking motivation. She thought she'd take a break for a time to make sure she got the hang of things. Meanwhile, while sitting in a restaurant with friends and chatting with friends, she was approached by a still photographer who was asking her if she'd be interested to model. She agreed, thinking she'd be able utilize the cash to purchase pocket cash. In no time, she began working professionally as model. Modeling contracts lead to commercials, and she travelled the globe. Then, one day, a casting director saw her work, and suggested that she take up acting instead. The director sent her to London aged 19 and was quickly selected for an audition to play in the latest James Bond film, A View to a Kill (1985). The acting was her love so she chose to work as an actor. She was a part of TV dramas, both in London as well as Dublin after her debut film. Her biggest breakthrough was when she was cast in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as the Aryan seductress, The Dr. Elsa Schneider.
