Patina Patina PatinaMiller took on the title role in the 1972 Stephen Schwartz Broadway production of "Pippin". The show was directed by Tony Award-winning director Diane Paulus, and also featuring Matthew James Thomas, Andrea Martin and Terrence Mann, "Pippin" received the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical at the 67th annual Tony Awards. Patina has put her own contemporary spin on the award-winning Ben Vereen's character and was able to master the Fosse actions that are vital to the production. Patina was awarded a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in the Leading Role within a Musical and an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical along with Drama League, Fred and Adele Astaire Award as well as Broadway.com Audience Choice Award nominations for the performance. The actress previously played the role of the Lead Player in the American Repertory Theater production of "Pippin" in December 2012 until January 2013. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
